A Self I Could Only Write is a collection of voices shaped by love, loss, memory, silence, longing, hope, and the quiet moments that change us. Some feelings arrive too deeply to be spoken. Some goodbyes never truly end. Some memories remain long after the people who created them have left. And sometimes, the only place where the heart can be completely honest is on a blank page. Across these pages, different writers give language to the emotions we often struggle to name — unspoken love, fading connections, childhood memories, heartbreak, healing, identity, friendship, solitude, and the courage to begin again. Each poem carries a different voice, yet together they form something familiar: the human experience of feeling deeply. A Self I Could Only Write is for those who have loved quietly, lost unexpectedly, remembered endlessly, or found pieces of themselves in words. Because sometimes, the person we cannot explain to the world becomes the person we finally learn to write. Some stories are lived. Some are remembered. And some selves can only be written.
